The Bhagwad Gita says “DHARMA KSHETRA KURUKSHETRA”.
This translates as “The Natural Law is your Battleground”.
Dharma here is natural law. Dharma does not mean religion. It is not duty as is commonly understood. Not a set of rules to be followed to be on the right side of some God. It is to align with the nature, with the way it has designed us. In his book “Marriage of Heaven and Hell”, the writer William Blake says “One law for the lion and the ox is oppression”.
What this means is the same laws cannot apply to creatures who have been designed differently. Similarly not all humans are designed the same, in fact we have five distinct designs or operating system types. Its implication for us in our modern world is that we all cannot follow the same path; we will end up dissapointed and frustrated. We must find and fulfill our own purpose. Find the roles we were designed for and assume them in service of the world. Only then will we feel satsified and happy.
We must discover our individual destinies, our own dharmas.
Do you want to know what your dhamra, your purpose might be? Find it out here.
Take a simple quiz to know your operating system type, your natural design. Maybe you will discover your purpose right here!
